What it's like to be a teen mom

Being a teen mom isn’t what some would expect. When I became a teen mom I was very scared and didn’t know what to say or what I was going to do. I thought to myself “how am I going to raise a child when I’m still in high school and trying to graduate and go to college?” After all, I’m still growing up myself.

After thinking for a few days and seeing my son for the first time I knew I had no choice but to do the best I could and give my child the best life I could as a teen mom. I told myself it’s no longer about me and what I want; it is about my child because that is who’s important now.

I never knew being a teen mom was going to be as hard as it is. When you become a teen mom you become a lot more worried, stressed, happy, and just so much more. Your life becomes completely different than how it was before, because you are always worrying if your child is okay or if you are doing everything you can for them.

Being a teen mom is very crazy, but every day I think to myself and say “Yeah I became a mom a little earlier than expected, but that just means I get to love my son a little longer”. Being a teen mom is a very hard job, and you’re constantly on your feet doing something or your stressed or worried but, honestly I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Real Talk:
Get Vaccinated

Getting routine shots from your doctor is never fun, but getting HPV is worse.
